Christians, why do you think this pattern of claiming to have evidence,then failing to produce it is so common?

because the evidence is personal testimony to their own faith it works for me in terms of understanding why they have a particular god and why they choose to worship in a particular way it just doesn't prove it for anyone else who hasnt chosen to have faith.
