I am going to hike a 14er this weekend (Bierstadt and Evans). What kind of clothing should I wear?

I was thinking of getting some zip off or on up pants from REI that are nylon or some sort of waterproof thin material. Not sure if these would be warm enough though, but I don't want to be too hot. I have timberland boots (I hear there's still snow). Are these a good choice? What about tops?
