Loosing weight?

So I'm the kind of person who eats when they are bored or stressed; so I have some extra pounds. I alo have some phyical issue that make daily working out painful. Then I got this bright idea, "only eat when I'm hungry!" I tryed this and I can go about 3 days without being hungry. Is this normal? Should I continue with this?
